The person with whom we can talk easily and freely. About whom, we believe that he/she will understand our words and emotions. And as well as that they will keep our secrets and will not misunderstand us.
What is Depression?
Depression is a psychological disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest. It affects how one feels, thinks and behaves and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. One may have trouble doing normal day-to-day activities and may feel as if life isn’t worth living.
The Importance of Trust in Relationship
Trusting another person starts for the time when we are a small baby and will also play a major role in our future and future decisions. Trust is about believing that other people will behave as you expect. And, that they will act in an appropriate way. Trust comes into play in relationships between individuals. Social trust also applies to everyone as part of larger groups.
In civil society, every relation revolves around trust. We built a level of trust with everyone whom we interact with. It includes family, friend, relatives, colleagues. But as every individual is different from another person, so it is obvious that we might have some trust issue from time to time.
How trust can become the reason for our depression?
There are different factors related to trust which individually or in combination causes depression:
It is a piece of information that is only known by one person or a few people and should not be told to others. We only share our secrets whom we trust, but Issues arise when the trust you have placed in others gets destroyed. And your secret reveals. You feel hurt, betrayed, and scared to trust again. That becomes a reason for taking anyone towards depression.
One of the problems with we humans is that we expect from others too much. If we trust someone we expect the same level of trust from another person as well. We forget that we are not only different by faces but also by the way of thinking. Too much expectation doesn’t only hurt us, but also lead us towards depression.
As explained earlier that we trust those, whom we think that they understand our words and emotions. On the other hand when we are misunderstood by the person whom we trust. That badly breaks our heart and it becomes difficult to share our ideas and thoughts with someone. When our feelings and emotions remain in our heart that slowly change into depression.
Emotion and Feelings
Different between Human beings and other living things are that they have feelings and emotions. These emotions help us to express our feeling but sometimes it also become the reason of over stress and depression. The clash between the emotions and feelings of two people also contributes to feeling down and finally lead us towards depression.
Every person lives life and observes things differently. The differences between the situation of one person with another person also affect the level of their thinking. So it happens like this sometimes we trust someone who is not at the same level of understanding as we expect them to be. So our trust gets destroy and we stop trusting others and store our feeling and thoughts in our own self. Even without realizing we slowly move towards depression.
